  • Dexterius "Dex" Draven

Dexterius “Dex” Draven grew up beneath the frozen skies of Borealis, a forgotten world on the edge of the Empire. Raised by his mother in a remote hill-dweller settlement, Dex learned early how to survive the brutal cold — but survival was never enough.

With a mind sharpened by books and a soul restless for something more, Dex has always gazed upward, dreaming of stars, starships, and answers buried in Imperial history. But when the legendary Nimbus Trials arrive unexpectedly on Borealis, his quiet yearning becomes an undeniable pull.

Dex is clever, observant, and deceptively skilled — a young man caught between the weight of loyalty and the gravity of destiny. What begins as a chance to prove himself quickly spirals into a confrontation with powers far older and deeper than he ever imagined.

  • Princess Ilumina Regalia

As a direct descendant of the reigning House Regalia, Mina embodies the veiled power of the Imperial bloodline. She is always composed, always regal, and always watching. Draped in the royal purple and gold of her house, Mina rarely raises her voice — because she never needs to.

Beneath her serene exterior lies a sharp mind trained in the art of court politics. She has spent her life navigating the palace’s unspoken laws — reading people, gauging threats, and mastering the dance between obedience and influence. While others compete in the Trials for glory, Mina moves through the Empire's corridors of power, shaping outcomes with the smallest of gestures.

  • Vice-Duke Haden

Born to House Aureus — the sun-steeped, tradition-bound royal family known for discipline and honor — Hadenembodies many of its core ideals… on the surface. He arrives at the Nimbus Trials wearing the house’s signature silver armor etched with a golden sun, a living symbol of nobility, strength, and the promise of imperial order.

But behind the polished exterior is a young man far more complicated. Haden is intelligent, perceptive, and politically aware. He sees the cracks in the Empire, even if he doesn’t always speak of them. Though trained to lead, he often chooses to listen — especially to those from worlds the Core overlooks.

  • Elara Draven

Elara Draven is a woman of secrets — wrapped in furs and silence, with eyes that have seen more than the frozen hills of Borealis would suggest. Though she poses as a humble librarian in the capital of Glacia, her bearing, her knowledge of Imperial lore, and the fierce protectiveness she shows toward her son hint at a past far more complicated… and far more dangerous.

She raised Dex alone, far from the Empire’s Core, and has always discouraged him from chasing dreams of the stars. But it isn’t apathy that drives her—it’s fear. Fear of what lies dormant in Dex… and what the Empire might do if they discover it.

  • Legate Amani

Legate Amani is the Empire’s blade wrapped in velvet — composed, enigmatic, and utterly formidable. As the Imperial Legate stationed on Borealis, she represents the Empire’s authority in this remote corner of the galaxy. But behind her calm, diplomatic façade lies a strategist, and possibly something more.

Trained on the harsh and perilous world of Thalvara — a Royal Planet known for its deadly fauna and proud warrior culture — Amani is far more than a bureaucrat. She sees what others overlook, speaks less than she knows, and always seems two steps ahead. Her interactions with Dex are cool and calculated… until they begin to shift.

  • The Chamberlain

A fixture of the Imperial Court, the Chamberlain is the golden voice behind the throne. Tasked with managing ceremony, law, and the vast intricacies of Regalian etiquette, he is as much an orator as he is a gatekeeper. Frail in appearance but grand in presence, he commands attention with every syllable — whether announcing dignitaries, interpreting court precedent, or delivering proclamations with theatrical gravity.

His speeches are famously long-winded, meticulously structured, and laced with symbolism — turning every formal occasion into a performance of power. Some find his verbosity exhausting. Others find it impossible to ignore.
